Diogenes' barrel

Academic Project / Madrid, Spain / ETSAM, 2011

Different textiles to be combined: 1. Nylon and cotton net

Diogenes’ Barrel is an academic work which reflects on the minimum dwelling possible, where the limits between what is real and what is imaginary are blurred.
This exercise is suggested as an approach to the possibilities textile can offer on its facet of layers and the freedom the combination of these can provide. That is to say, it is a research of the situations that could occur by the use of four types of textiles of very different attributes and their various combinations.
To create the architectural space, the four layers have several joints. You can see some possible combinations in the drawings.
